Q. Briefly introduce yourself.
(간단하게 너에대한 소개를 해줘)
J : I’m jens and I’m a Norwegian pop artist.
I just released a new EP that is called “Call Me Back When You Get A moment”.
(난 jens고 노르웨이의 팝 아티스트야.
난 "Call Me Back When You Get A moment"라는 새로운 EP앨범을 출시했어.)
Q. What motivated you to start music?
(음악을 시작하게 된 계기가 뭐야?)
J : I think I have always been motivated to work with music and I have always loved music.
From I was a very young age I used to make up melodies and lyrics to my own songs
and daydream to songs that I loved.
(나는 항상 음악을 하고 싶은 동기가 생겼고 음악을 좋아했다고 생각했어.
나는 아주 어린 나이부터 멜로디와 가사를 직접 작곡하고 공상에 잠기곤 했어.)
Q. How did you come up with your name or stage name?
(어떻게 너의 활동명이 만들어지게 된거야?)
J : “jens” is my real name. At first I was thinking about coming up with a stage name,
but I couldn’t think of a name I liked, so I just went with “jens”.
("jens"는 내 진짜 이름이야. 처음에는 예명을 생각해 낼까 하다가
마음에 드는 이름이 떠오르지 않아 그냥 jens'로 했어.)
Q. How do you usually make your music?
(보통 작업은 어떻게 이루어져?)
J : I love working with other people when I’m writing music.
That way their style of writing mixes with mine and often they will come up with cool ideas
that I wouldn’t have thought of.
So for the most part I like to make my music in writing sessions along with other songwriters and producers.
A song will often start of by us finding some cool chords or sounds, and then we just write from there.
(나는 음악을 작곡할 때 다른 사람들과 함께 일하는 것을 좋아해.
그렇게 하면 그들의 스타일은 내 것과 섞여서 종종 내가 생각하지 못했을 멋진 생각을 떠올릴거야.
그래서 대부분의 경우 나는 다른 작곡가, 프로듀서와 함께 곡 작업 하는것을 좋아해.

Q. Who is the artist that influenced you a lot?
(네게 많은 영향을 끼친 아티스트가 누구야?)
J : That is a hard question because I think I have been influenced by a lot of different artist,
but if I am going to choose one I think I have to say Dave Grohl.
I know we make really different music, but I just love his approach to songwriting and music production.
(그것은 내가 많은 다른 예술가들에게 영향을 받았다고 생각하기 때문에 어려운 질문이지만,

Q. What motivated you to make this song?
(작곡할 때 모티브가 되는 곡이 있어?)
J : I just released two new songs plus a bonus version of “Wish I Was Right For You”
featuring Youha on my latest EP “Call Me Back When You Get A Moment”.
The single on the EP is called “Tough Love” and when I wrote it I wanted to write a fun
and up-tempo song with a lot of organic instruments.
I remember being really happy when we finished writing it.
(얼마 전 신곡 2곡과 보너스 버전 유하의 피쳐링으로 마지막에 담긴 “Wish I Was Right For You”가
수록된 EP앨범 'Call Me Back When You Get A Moment'을 발표했어.
EP의 싱글은 'Tough Love'라고 불리며, 내가 그것을 작곡했을 때
나는 많은 자연스러운 악기들로 이루어진 활기찬 업템포의 노래를 쓰고 싶었어.
우리가 다 썼을 때 정말 행복했던 기억이 나.)
Q. What song do you recommend or listen to?
(It doesn't matter if it's your song or another artist's song)
(추천하는 곡이 있다면?너의 곡 또는 다른 아티스트의 곡이어도 상관 없어.)
J : Lately I have been listening a lot to Sam Fender.
So I would recommend his song “Hypersonic Missiles”
(and if I may, I would also like to recommend my own song “Johanna” from my EP).
(최근에 나는 Sam Fender의 말을 많이 듣고 있어.
그래서 나는 그의 노래 "Hypersonic Missiles"를 추천하고 싶어.

Q. Please explain the song you composed.

J : The single on the EP, “Tough Love”, is about being in a relationship that you know is not good for you.Still something is keeping you interested to the point where you don’t want to leave.
Love is not always easy and sometimes it might be hard to know just why you love someone.
(EP의 싱글인 "Tough Love"는 여러분에게 좋지 않다는 것을 알고 있는 관계에 대한 거야.
그래도 뭔가 당신이 떠나고 싶지 않을 정도로 당신을 흥미롭게 하고 있다는 뜻이야.
사랑은 항상 쉬운 것은 아니며 때때로 왜 누군가를 사랑하는지 알기가 어려울 수도 있지.)
Q. Do you have any plans to come to Korea?
(This is full of selfishness, I hope you have a chance to visit Korea)
(한국에 내한올 계획이 있어?)
(이건 내 사심이 가득담긴 말이야, 기회가 있다면 한국을 방문해줬으면 좋겠어.)
J : I would really love to visit Korea.
It seems like such a cool and beautiful country.
Right now COVID-19 is making it hard to travel anywhere in the world,
so sadly I don’t have any plans to travel to Korea at the moment.
Still I really hope that I get the chance to come visit when things start to go back to normal.
(나는 한국에 꼭 가보고 싶어.
정말 멋지고 아름다운 나라 같아.
지금 COVID-19는 세계 어디든 여행하는 것을 어렵게 만들고 있어서
슬프게도 나는 현재 한국으로 여행할 계획이 없어.
그래도 일이 해결돼서 상황이 정상적으로 돌아가기 시작할 때 꼭 한번 가보고 싶어.)
Q. What are your hobbies or specialties?
(너의 취미나 특기는 뭐야?)
J : Lately I have really started to get interested in disc golf,
which is basically just golf with frisbees,and I have been playing it more and more.
Other than that and music I also study psychology at the local university.
(최근에 나는 디스크 골프에 정말 관심을 갖기 시작했는데,
그것은 기본적으로 프리스비를 이용한 골프일 뿐이고, 나는 점점 더 그것을 하고 있어.

Q. Are there any artists you would like to collaborate with in the future?

J : I guess my dream collaboration would be with Jon Bellion,
just because he seems to be such a great songwriter and producer.
I also think that Korea has a lot of great music
and I would love to collaborate some more with Korean artistsand I hope I get to chance to do that sometime in the future.
I was really fortunate to have Korean artist Youha feature on my song “Wish I Was Right For You”
and it was such a great experience collaborating with her.
(난 Jon Bellion이 훌륭한 작곡가 겸 프로듀서인 것 같아서 내 꿈의 협업이 있을 거라고 생각해.
나도 한국이 좋은 음악을 많이 가지고 있고 한국 가수들과 더 많은 협업을 하고 싶어.
그리고 나중에 기회가 되면 좋겠어.
내 노래 "Wish I Was Right For You"에 한국 가수 유하가 피처링한 것이 정말 행운이었고,
그녀와 협업한 것은 정말 좋은 경험이었어.)
Q. What else are you interested in besides music?
(음악 외에 즐겨하는것들이 있어?)
J : I study psychology and find that really interesting.
Other than that I love to learn about the world and maybe especially about biology and geography.
(나는 심리학을 공부하고 그것이 정말 흥미롭다고 생각해.
그것 말고도 나는 세상에 대해 배우는 것을 좋아하고 특히 생물학과 지리에 대해 배우는 것을 좋아해.)
Q. Lastly, what would you like to say to fans who love your music?
(마지막으로, 당신의 음악을 사랑하는 팬들에게 하고싶은 말이 있다면?)
J : I want to say thank you so much for all of your support.
